Billy D. Washington is a man of many talents, and at least one (but no more than 5) will be on display this week at Cap City. This ivory tickling, poetry spouting smooth operator brings it all for your entertainment. He's been featured on a lot of channels and shows with a lot of initials (HBO, BET, LCS, VH1, to name a few) and headlines nationally wherever he goes. Show some love for fun and hit this show. And featuring for Billy D., Jeremy Neal. Quick of speech and laser-like of brain, Neal's one of my favorite Austin comics to just sit and watch. His fun is infectious and his jokes are original. Come see why I like to watch with these two enablers of awesomeness at Cap City.

I try not to pimp open mics...unless they're awesome. And Nick Aluotto's new room in San Marcos is completely worth the time. I hosted a couple of weeks ago, and it was a great night. Small and intimate room, with a smart crowd just ready to lap up comedy. Each comic gets anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes (depending on time restraints) and from what I saw, the scene here in central Texas as strong as ever. On top of that, the Tap Room (a bar just down the hall from the show) serves every single freaking beer they have in 23 oz. glasses. And they have waitresses that will deliver beer to the room. You remember beer, don't you? It's like cake, but it's beer, so it's better. If you're looking for time, or just looking for a good time, this is worth the drive.
