Good Enough - Episodes 1 & 2

So what does exactly does the "Funniest Person in Austin" do? What responsibilities and values are the reigning champion of Austin comedy expected to uphold?

The answer is: None, really.

It can actually be pretty boring, which probably explains why the current crown-holder, Lucas Molandes, has taken it upon himself produce a brand new Austin comedy shop-talk podcast titled "Good Enough." What's to be expected? We'll let Mr. FPIA 2010 tell you himself.

Since becoming the funniest person in Austin, I've been looking into ways to spread myself as thin as possible. That said, I've decided to take on the responsibility of producing a weekly podcast. I'm not certain what format the show will ultimately have, but my motivation is that I would like to give local comedians the opportunity to promote their shows, ideas and insights via the podcastery medium.
I've already recorded a few test-episodes. The first recording features Eric Krug, Chuck Watkins, Mike Weibe (of Riverboat Gamblers fame), Jeremy Neal, and myself. I also sat down with Amber Bixby to discuss her up coming show - "Is This Thing On (Our First Jokes)" - at the New Movement Theater on June 25th. If you listen to both of these (god help you), you'll hear a group of people talking about nothing, and you'll hear a shorter interview that is much more focused on the given topic. The goal is to find a way to marry these two test shows to create a more rewarding experience for both the casual listener and the comedians.
I will not be the main interviewer or moderator for all of these shows. I have a few people who will take the reins and hopefully create a more well rounded listening experience. The line-up of interviewers is tentative, but is open to anyone who has an idea for a show. Each show will feature no more than 3 people per segment and will most likely run between 30 and 60 minutes. Again, I'm not really a big picture guy, so most of this could change.

Also, the show will not be a strictly interview type show, so if you have any ideas or suggestions for segments, feel free to pass them along.

That's it for now.
